5.  Setting Realistic Expectations and Opening Clear Lines of Communication

Problem: Like any investment opportunity, business technology enhancement initiatives are risk/reward propositions. No business software application will be able to perfectly address every company’s business needs, regardless of its level of technical sophistication. One of the keys to performing a successful implementation is guiding the client through the process of understanding the application’s capabilities and limitations and helping them make informed business decisions regarding its optimal functional deployment.

Solution: At CGSolutions we consider it our professional responsibility to inform you of both the potential benefits and risks involved in the implementation process before you commit substantial resources to the project. Our job is to provide you with an honest, realistic assessment of what you can reasonably expect from your business technology enhancement initiatives and what you will need to invest in order to achieve your business goals.

Business Objective: Manage client expectations regarding the project ethically and professionally and clearly identify all corporate resources and internal commitments that will be necessary to successfully complete the project prior to acquiring the client’s consent to proceed. Communicate regularly with management regarding progress throughout all phases of the implementation and review any material issues that may arise during the course of the project that could potentially jeopardize its successful completion.
